Grand Cayman | Restaurants and Bars on the Beach
If you have time in your charter, we recommend a stop at one of Grand Cayman’s restaurants. Whether you want a casual, shoes-off burger-and-fries joint, or 5-star dining, there is plenty of choice. It’s a great way to sneak in a lunch or cocktail, and gives your family break from the sun, sea and sand.
Cayman’s new town centre, Camana Bay is architecturally interesting and hosts some of Cayman’s trendiest bars and restaurants. It’s also home of Cayman’s cinema. If you have time to spare, take a stroll, visit some of the shops, grab a coffee or lunch on the water.
KAIBO BEACH BAR/RESTAURANT AND MARINA
Kaibo is one of Cayman’s legendary beach bar/restaurants. Drive right in by boat, tie up at their floating dock and either grab take aways for a boat-picnic or stay a while. No shoes? No problem. It’s a relaxed beach eatery on the ground level, and a full on restaurant upstairs. They’ve also got a fully functional bar. Best mudslides, bar none!
Probably the oldest beach bar in Cayman Kai (and on the island), Kaibo Beach Bar has proven they can survive the test of time, evolving from just a shack on the beach in the ’70s to the current building which houses a fully functional bar and restaurant (with all the mod-cons!). This is the place to go as their marina makes access by boat easy. Simply drive in, step off and you are there at the restaurant. Kaibo Beach grill serves local specialities all day and the drinks are worth the discovery. More…
Love a cup of Joe and the early mornings? Kaibo is also serving coffee at their brand new location.
RUM POINT RESTAURANT AND BAR
Rum Point is a truly breath-taking location. Set on a natural point, it’s surrounded by clear shallow water with white sand beaches. It is the perfect place to relax and spend the day with your family. They have all the facilities from toilets and showers to watersports operations and of course the restaurant and beach bar and grill. Oh – and if you just want to relax in a hammock you can of course do this too! It’s a great place for young children as the water is shallow and perfect for a first snorkel lesson or just to paddle and build sand castles.
Located on the tranquil North Side of Grand Cayman, Rum Point is a popular and safe family getaway with idyllic surroundings. The Wreck Bar & Grill is known as “the Home of the Mudslide”. More…
MORGAN’S HARBOUR RESTAURANT
For something a little less sandy and a bit more classy, we suggest Morgan’s Harbour Restaurant. This mainstream local eatery has moved from it’s original West Bay location to a brand new purpose built facility located in the Cayman Islands Yacht Club. Sit inside or take advantage of the sea breezes on the verandah. It’s right on the marina so you can watch the boats go by. And the food is phenomenal, you won’t be disappointed. More…
CALYPSO GRILL RESTAURANT
Caribbean waterfront fine dining at its best. Step off the boat and into the restaurant.
Blue French doors open out on to the wide deck overlooking Morgan’s Harbour. Soft breezes flow in from the Sound. Views of fishing boats lazing back to their docks, with frigates soaring above, are your accompaniments to leisurely lunches and delightful dinners. This is the Calypso Grill experience out in West Bay and what a charming and delicious experience it is.
By day the sun fills the room, the water sparkles and the play of colors equals the splendor of the outdoors. By night Calypso Grill enjoys the most comfortable and cozy feeling on the island.
